Why Little Seed Farm Deodorants are the Natural Choice for Sensitive Skin

Why It’s Our Favorite Deodorant

We have a favorite deodorant in the shop and it’s Little Seed Farm’s non-irritating, super effective deodorants! They do it all. Stop wetness and keep you smelling fresh as a summer’s day. Plus, they feel good on your skin and they smell great naturally. Super cost effective and they’re packaged in recyclable glass jars. We especially like that Little Seed Farm’s formulations are baking soda free. Here’s why.

Baking Soda Free Deodorant: Gentle on Your Skin

No baking soda. Baking soda is alkaline, with a pH of about 9, while your skin is naturally acidic, with a pH of about 4.5–6.5. Baking soda can disrupt your skin's natural pH balance, which can lead to irritation like dryness, redness, itching, and a painful rash. It may not happen all at once, but repeated exposure to baking soda deodorants can leave you feeling almost like you have a burn, if you’re sensitive to them.

Instead of baking soda, Little Seed Farm uses Arrowroot powder mixed with magnesium hydroxide. Very clever. Arrowroot powder is a natural sweat absorbent, perfect for deodorants, It’s really the ingredient that’s keeping you dry. Magnesium hydroxide is a common ingredient in natural deodorants because it can neutralize odor-causing bacteria on the skin's surface without reducing skin moisture. It's also a good option for people with sensitive skin because it's gentler than baking soda, too.

A Deodorant Made For Sensitive Skin

A little addition of plant based Glycerin derived from sunflower, coconut or flaxseed oils help soothe and hydrate your skin while absorbing excess moisture—cause sweat is going to happen! A sprinkle of essential oils and you have our cult favorite deodorant.
