PlanToys toys specializes in using sustainable materials.
PlanToys are made with sustainable materials, including reclaimed rubberwood in Thailand. They were the first toy manufacturer to create toys by upcycling rubberwood from rubber trees that no longer produce latex and would have been burned as waste. Instead, PlanToys repurposes them to make amazing toys for children.

How does HABA support sustainability?
With so much of their production relying on a supply of beech wood, they regularly play a role in the reforestation of local land.
Does PlanToys really upcycle sawdust to make their toys?
Yes! PlanToys upcycles surplus sawdust from production, combines it with organic pigments and non-formaldehyde glue and uses a thermal process to form the mix into shapes. This new material, PlanWood, allows them to create more durable toys that have more play value, reduce the production process, and are friendly to workers, consumers, and the environment.

HABA’s production is unique and eco-friendly.
HABA FAMILYGROUP relies on sustainable building technology, including geothermal heat exchangers, solar power, and rainwater collection for use in sanitary facilities.
The HABA FAMILYGROUP is not only an energy consumer, but also its own energy supplier. Heat is needed for heating the various buildings as well as for drying timber in the company's own drying chamber. This heat is generated almost exclusively by burning residual wood such as wood chips or scrap material.
